This document is minutes of a Board of Commissioners meeting on May 10, 1967. The minutes record approval of bills for payment; the Treasurer's report; a donation from the Jaycees toward the cost of a flagpole for the Administration Building; a suggestion by the GE Tennis Association that the organization recommended that three tennis courts be built in George Ball Park to be supported by Association fees; a request that the Superintendent prepare specifications and obtain proposals for three tennis courts in Ball Park; a discussion on selling part of Forest Park [Prairie Path] to the Stephens Lumber Co. and the recommendation that the company talk to the Prairie Path Association; a petition from the League of Women Voters that the PD accept responsibility for a recreation program in the PD; passage of a resolution that the PD create a public recreation program; agreement by the Board that they needed to develop a master plan for parks and recreation; the authorization that the Superintendent have North Park [Ackerman] surveyed; requests for the use of the Boathouse; request for use of Memorial Park tennis courts.
