This document is minutes of a Board of Commissioners meeting on July 19, 1971. The minutes record approval of bills for payment; the Treasurer's report; requests for the use of Lake Ellyn Park, Sunset Park, the assembly room, passage of an ordinance concerning rules and regulations; maintenance of clay tennis courts; proposal to have a police shooting range in North [Ackerman] Park; presentation of a report on the recreation program; requests for use of South [Newton] Park and Memorial Park for football; a report on the annexation of land outside Glen Ellyn to the PD at the request of the Arboretum Planning Group.
The meeting was adjourned and immediately reconvened as a Committee of the Whole to discuss the proposed war memorial fountain in Memorial Park.
