This document is minutes of a Board of Commissioners meeting on January 19, 1976. The minutes record approval of bills for payment; the Treasurer's report; a report from the Director of Parks and Recreation; a report from the Superintendent of Recreation; and a report from the Superintendent of Parks. There was discussion on various parks and improvements: Ackerman; Lake Foxcroft Park; the Johnson Center; the Bicentennial Playground at Newton Park, and the Administration Center. A resolution was passed to support recreational projects for the handicapped. Youth football was discussed. There was discussion on the question of title to the Ruth Candy Parkway, the use of the Golf Subdivision parks [Glen Oaks and Presidents] by the PD, and the bike path as well as cooperation with the Recreation Commission on creating a park [Co-op] to the east of the Village Links. The Board attorney reported that the closing on the Goodrich Property [Babcock Grove] was scheduled for 21 January. The Board adjourned and reconvened in Executive Session to discuss land acquisition.
